Tirumala & Tirupati Local
Tirumala is the richest pilgrimage centre in the world. It is the abode of Lord Venkateswara located at the top of Seshachalam Hills often called as Seven Hills. The temple of Lord Venkateswara was built by Thondaman King and reformed periodically by Cholas, Pandyas and Vijayanagara. The Temple rights were formalized by Sri Ramanujacharya in the 11th Century A.D. These hills are 980 meters above the sea level and is about 10.33 square miles in area.
As per Agama sastra every pilgrim before having Lord Venkateswara Darshan must take darshan of Sri Padmavathi Amma and Varaha Swamy.
There are many Teertha's, spiritual spots and historical places to visit in Tirumala and surrounding places in Tirupati. We will strive hard to cover most the places as time permits.
